The Blackpool Arts Department (BADept) initiative aims to promote the arts and education through out the community and develop Blackpool as a reputable centre for the Arts.
It aims to do this by:
Developing the visual arts in Blackpool through the implementation of a new artist residency scheme based in, and about, Blackpool;
Promoting new and existing audiences and participants in the visual arts in Blackpool by putting on exhibitions and events.
Providing work placements for students studying professional practices in the fine arts;
Maintaining and develop links with schools, colleges and arts organisations;
Providing space for workshops and art surgeries for BADept members;
Working with local business and the creative community in order to promote events and maintain fluid communications;
Blackpool Arts Department ethos is to develop an import and export of talented artists. Members will be nominated as well as open to submission.
Exhibiting Artists will automatically receive member status.
Membership is not exclusively for Blackpool residents and encourages links through out the UK and abroad.
The Blackpool Arts Department aims to be a National Organization with a National reputation for exhibiting good quality art and providing opportunities for local artists to exhibit and make links with other artist’s studios around the UK.
All positions within the Organisation will be held voluntarily.

Blackpool Arts Department is a not- for-profit organization
